SharePoint (2010, 2013, 2016, and Online) Taxonomies from WAND

Taxonomy is an incredibly important ingredient for a successful SharePoint 2010, SharePoint Online, or SharePoint 2013 document management project. SharePoint Taxonomy is important to organize your information.

WAND has created a library of pre-built foundation taxonomies that can be licensed to jump-start a SharePoint  managed metadata and tagging initiative. These taxonomies can be immediately imported into the SharePoint and customized for a businesses specific need. Pre-built taxonomies can speed up any content management project.  If you can find one that is a good fit for your business, it is a best practice to use start with one.

The link below will take you to a list of the foundation taxonomies available from WAND that are ready to use in SharePoint 2010, SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2013, and SharePoint 2016 term store.  Many of these have specific posts in our blog and those that don't will be added over time.  These taxonomies have been specifically designed to give our customers a head start in tagging documents relevant to their specific industry or business need.  WAND Pre-built Foundation Taxonomies include important processes, topics, concepts, equipment, supplies, document types, and more depending on what is relevant for the industry or subject.

WAND Taxonomies for SharePoint are available through the WAND Taxonomy Library Portal which gives you web-based access to every WAND Taxonomy covering all industry vertical segments and business functional areas.  Taxonomies can be downloaded into SharePoint Term Store format for easy import.  Taxonomies can be mixed, matched, and customized specifically for your business.
